# Getting Paid

Hosting a FliteGrid sensor in an eligible hex pays **$50 per month**. Flat rate, every month, for as long as your sensor stays online. That's $600 a year for providing power and a rooftop.

## How Payments Work

**$50 per eligible hex, per month.** If you host sensors in multiple eligible hexes, each one earns independently.

**Paid monthly, at the end of each month.** Payments begin with your first full calendar month of operation and are sent in USDC to the wallet address on your FliteGrid account.

**95% uptime required.** To earn a month's payment, your sensor needs to be online at least 95% of that calendar month. This is a threshold, not a proration: meet it and you're paid in full, miss it and that month doesn't pay. In practice, 95% is a forgiving bar. It allows roughly 36 hours of downtime in a month, and a properly mounted sensor with stable power will clear it without you thinking about it.

**Downtime caused by SkySafe doesn't count against you.** Platform outages, firmware updates pushed by SkySafe, hardware failures, and LTE network problems are on our side of the line. Only downtime within your control (most commonly, loss of power to the sensor) counts toward the 5% allowance.

**Your dashboard shows where you stand.** Your FliteGrid account displays your sensor's live status and current-month uptime, so payment is never a mystery. If your sensor drops offline, check power first.

## Before Your First Payment

Two pieces of setup on your FliteGrid account:

**A wallet address.** Payments are made in USDC, so you'll need a wallet that can receive it. Enter your address in your account settings and double-check it. Transfers sent to the address you provide are final.

**A completed W-9.** Payments to deployers are taxable income, and US tax rules require us to collect a W-9 and report payments. You'll be prompted to complete this in your account before your first payout. You're responsible for your own taxes on FliteGrid income.

## Reward Points

Alongside USDC payments, active sensors also accrue reward points tracked on the backend. Points have no cash value and no promised future use; they exist to preserve optionality for programs the network may introduce down the road, and early deployers will have been accruing the longest if that day comes. Full terms are in the [Terms and Conditions](/legal/terms-and-conditions.md). Host a sensor for the $600 a year, and treat anything beyond that as a bonus.

## When You're Done

Participation isn't a lock-in. If you want to stop hosting, contact <support@flitegrid.io>, return the sensor (return shipping is at your expense), and your $100 deposit is refunded once the hardware is received. Details in the [Terms and Conditions](/legal/terms-and-conditions.md).
