Claim Your Hex

Claiming a hex reserves your spot in the FliteGrid network. Each hex belongs to exactly one deployer, claims are first come, first served, and eligible hexes pay $50 USDC per month once your sensor is deployed and online.

How Claiming Works

1. Browse the coverage map at app.flitegrid.io. Eligible hexes are marked, along with which are open and which are already claimed.

2. Claim an open, eligible hex where you can deploy a sensor. You need access to a location inside the hex with power and a clear view of the sky, and the authority to install a sensor there (your own roof, a property you manage, or a spot where you have the owner's permission).

3. Pay the $100 deposit. It's fully refundable. SkySafe owns the hardware; the deposit is simply returned to you when you return the sensor. Shipping is billed separately when your sensor ships.

4. Receive your sensor. SkySafe ships sensors to deployers with claimed hexes as production units become available in 2026.

5. Deploy within 30 days of shipment. Your claim holds the hex for 30 days after your sensor ships. Deploy and activate within that window and the hex is yours. If the sensor isn't deployed in time, the hex unlocks for other deployers to claim.

A Few Ground Rules

First come, first served. There's no application or approval process. If a hex is open and eligible, whoever claims it first gets it.

One deployer per hex. Your claim is exclusive. No one else can deploy in your hex while your claim is active.

Multiple hexes are fine. If you have access to good locations in more than one eligible hex, you can claim more than one. Each hex gets its own sensor, its own deposit, and its own $50 monthly payment.

US only. Sensors can only be deployed within the United States for now. International expansion will follow.

About the Deposit

The deposit exists so that hardware goes to people who intend to deploy it, and it comes back to you in full when the sensor comes back to us. End your participation at any time, return the sensor (return shipping is at your expense), and your $100 is refunded after the hardware is received. Full terms are in the Terms and Conditions.
